Wayne Mark Rooney is a twenty two year old who plays as an attacker for Manchester United FC. He is an Englishman who is already a remarkable player, and still has a lot of potential. Wayne Rooney is originally from Liverpool, and is five foot and ten inches tall.

Wayne Rooney began playing football at a high level before he was even eleven, being snapped up by his local team Everton, where he spent six years playing in their youth squads. Then, in 2002, Rooney made his transition to the adult side, and, while he was there, he got the record for the youngest Premier League goal scorer when he was just 16 years and 360 days old, but this record was later beaten.

Wayne Rooney excelled in Euro 2004, and his performances meant that a host of top clubs were interested in buying the young striker, with Newcastle United and Manchester United leading the bids. Although Newcastle United offered just short of nineteen million, Manchester United sealed the deal with the Liverpudlian man, with their offer of thirty million being accepted in 2004.

In his early days at Manchester United, Wayne Rooney got a reputation for being a very fiery and aggressive striker, picking up several yellow and red cards, mainly for dissent, but Rooney sorted out these problems and excelled in to a magnificent striker. On his debut for Manchester United he scored a hat trick and made an assist, which was an indication of what brilliance was to follow. Wayne Rooney has so far made just under one hundred and fifty appearances and scored sixty goals for the ‘Red Devils’. In his four years at the club, he has won several trophies, including two Premier League titles, one Champions League title, one Community Shield, and one Carling Cup, although he is yet to win an FA Cup.

Wayne Rooney’s international career has been a resounding success, with his debut matches showing his talent, and his blistering performance in Euro 2004 showed just how good he was, scoring four goals in three group games before getting injured early in the quarter final. In the 2006 World Cup, Wayne Rooney again played well, but this time missed out of part of the quarter final due to getting a red card after stamping on a Portuguese player. In his international career so far, Wayne Rooney has made forty three appearances and scored fourteen goals.
